How to Replace the Easytrip RFID Sticker & Lost Card

6. How to Replace the Easytrip RFID Sticker Lost Card

RFID, a type of wireless technology, utilizes radio waves to identify and track tags that are placed on objects or people. This technology is used for various purposes, such as traveling and in the transport industry. Examples of these include tracking shipping containers during their moving process, identifying vehicles and granting them access to enter premises, locating moving vehicles, and others.

This is beneficial for transportation companies because it helps them achieve efficient business processes, such as rapidly adjusting delivery schedules, automating workflow, and identifying shipping bottlenecks. On the other hand, RFID has been utilized in travel by providing access to various hotel amenities compared to old key cards that could only be used in hotel rooms, tighter security during music festivals, and improved room inventory management.

Benefits of RFID for Travelers

One well-known usage of RFID technology is in Easytrip. As an electronic toll collection system, Easytrip is used in NLEX, NLEX Connector, SCTEX, CAVITEX, CALAX, and C5 Link. RFID stickers are placed on a vehicle's windshield or rearview mirror. RFID scanners will read these stickers before a vehicle enters the toll gate. Once read, the system will deduct the specific amount of the toll fee from the commuter’s account, and then it can pass through the tollgate.

Another popular use of RFID is autosweep. This is another toll collection system for commuters who travel on the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR Tollway), NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), Skyway, and Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX).

The primary difference between Easytrip and Autosweep is the expressways on which they can be used. However, earlier this year, Easytrip RFID was introduced on autosweep-only tollgates to give commuters the flexibility to travel on different tollgates conveniently.
